Costumes

This costume was built over a 6 month period.

​

It features moving electronic wings, foam 'armor', foam clay detailing, articulated jaw, and light-up eyes.

​

This costume made it to the top 10 at the PAX AUS Cosplay Central Crown Championship in 2023.

While studying at Toi Whakaari, a New Zealand Drama School, these wings were my independent research project for my final year's project.

​

They are foam feathers, painted to look like phoenix wings, and are filled with programmable lights to make them have that fire illusion

I had been wanting to build angel wings for a while, and this was the costume where it finally happened.

​

The dress and wigs were later additions to turn the wings into a costume.

​

The wings are fully articulated and fold closed.

The wings fold closed electronically for easier walking around, the staff spins, the boots and armor are made from foam while the chest piece is worbla.

​

This costume won Best in Show at Wellington Amageddon in 2016.

The wings are made from kite fabric and can fold closed like a cape, the sword is made from wood, the pantyhose detailing is hand painted on, and the dress is hand-dyed fabric
